Business Needs
With an abundance of stores around the globe selling their products, Gant needed a way to distribute product and corporate information efficiently. They needed a reliable workflow that could effectively facilitate and distribute constant updates to their products and the detailed information associated with them. They wanted all stores and partners to be connected in a single-source solution where all product-related updates and information could be found.
The Product Information Management (PIM) solution they were using was not able to easily distribute updates worldwide and was not compatible with all their client’s platforms. It also did not allow them to keep track of their global store and partner’s inventory – leaving them unknowing when a store is lacking in sales or has sold out of certain products. Instead, they relied on sending out a spreadsheet to all their global networks for them to update their inventory and sales information – this was in no way efficient and lead to version control issues and inaccurate information. They needed a solution that would efficiently and easily be able to distribute large volumes of information around the globe – and also one that would give them insight into sales activity.

Pimcore Solution Partner Ateles Consulting began working with Gant in 2013 with the aim of streamlining the organization's global IT infrastructure. Gant had identified that they needed a PIM system in order to manage all product information globally. Gant required a flexible system that allowed them to grow easily and adapt to changing market demands.
The accessible and user-friendly solution was rolled out to the entire organization including all stores and resellers. It gives the entire partner network the ability to update their store location information to make sure the website is always displaying accurate information. When Gant needs to distribute new product information or updates to existing products, Pimcore allows them to do this quickly and easily ensuring the entire global network receives the required material. All in all, the solution is a perfect fit to their business needs and brings efficiency to a once complicated process.
Pimcore was chosen as a PIM system because it is an extremely flexible platform with strong functionality for Product Information Management. Gant quickly realized the potential of Pimcore, as the system could handle a lot more information than they originally thought, which made the system perfect for the task of streamlining the IT infrastructure.
In addition to a pure PIM system that handles all product information globally, Ateles developed a Store Locator and Inventory Management features for the Store Concept department. Also, functions for Royalty Reporting from the various markets of the financial department in Pimcore have been developed. All solutions were developed with rights management and integration into Google Single-Sign-On, which is part of Gant's existing infrastructure. This makes the solutions easily accessible and easy to use for Gant's all internal and external stakeholders who need access to the different solutions.
