KEMPER GmbH already relies on Pimcore‘s technical advantages. In the past all of KEMPER‘s relevant business processes were routinely displayed by Pimcore 2.3 . However, due to changing technological general conditions the systems limits were reached at some point: the possibilities to improve both development and update aptitude were no longer provided.

For this reason it is advisable to relaunch KEMPER‘s Multi-Language Platform kemper.eu and to change the currently applied version Pimcore 2.3 to the most actual Pimcore version 5.x. So far the objective has been mapping every employed function in current and contemporary technologies, as well as exploiting the advantages of modularization and optimizing the new Pimcore 5 features. The targeted result was to get a serviceable and upgradable system. Furthermore kemper.eu was developed for cloud-hosting within Microsoft Azure. Its application can be operated sustainably and at-scale in a flexible and future-proof environment. Renewing the Web2Print process along with a relaunch was particularly important to KEMPER GmbH, so that automated web and print pdf files can be generated.

Pimcore Solution

Several Pimcore 5 migration scripts were developed to implement requirements most effectively and to minimize manual transfer processes. Following the implementation of the platform architecture the PIM object and data structure was transferred into eight languages from the old system. In addition to that CMS modules were entirely revised and Web2Print processes newly constructed based on PDF reactor.

The final product is a modern and maintainable Content Management System which provides a multitude of upgrading options. Pimcore 5 enables KEMPER to present itself online in an even more progressive and individual way without changing the homepages structure. The additional new construction of Web2Print processes optimizes the construction of automated web and print PDF files. That way the entire product catalog is created in eight languages via Web2Print and put at the disposal of the printer. This is possible because the created print PDF files are appropriate for printing processes including printing plate exchange by placing elements. Once the relaunch has been achieved, ongoing optimization business processes such as online product registrations can now continuously be upgraded.
